Satellite tournaments

Satellite tournaments

Satellites are lower buy-in tournaments that allow you to win an entry into higher buy-in tournaments. They're a good way to qualify for big events for a fraction of the buy-in.

How do satellites work?
You can find these tournaments under the Tournament tab.

To check what bigger buy-in tournament you're playing for, follow these instructions:
  1. Go to the tournament lobby of the satellite you want to play.
  2. Under the Event Details section, the details of the tournament ticket prize or target event will be listed
If you win a satellite, you won't receive coins in your account. Instead, you'll either get a tournament ticket for a bigger buy-in event or be automatically registered for a specific event.

There are two types of satellites that we offer:
  1. Ticket satellites
We have tournaments specifically designed to provide tickets to the winners, designated as "ticket satellites," such as a "25,000 Gold Coin Ticket Satellite." These will award a ticket that you can use to enter a future event. In this example, the future event would be an tournament with a 25,000 Gold Coin buy-in.

      2. Feeder satellites
When you first qualify for an event through a feeder-type satellite, you will be automatically registered for that event, and a ticket will not appear in your wallet. You can check the tournaments you are registered for by selecting the "MY MTT'S' option in your wallet.

If you qualify for the same target event in a subsequent feeder satellite, you will be awarded a ticket that will be visible in your wallet, which can be used to enter another event of the same value within 30 days. These tickets can also be used for re-entering the target event if needed. Also, unregistering from the target tournament won't always be possible. So, if you already know you don't want to play in a particular target event, you should not register in one of its satellites.

What if I win multiple satellites for the same tournament?
No player can register twice for the same tournament.

If you qualify twice for the same tournament, you won't receive cash or an entry for your additional win. Instead, we'll award the value of the seat in the target tournament to your account in the form of tournament ticket(s).

How are the number of tournament seats or tickets to the target event determined?
In a satellite or "feeder" tournaments seats or tickets to the target event are awarded based on the number of entries or in some cases a guaranteed minimum.

What happens if the number of paid entries do not meet the minimum?
If the number of paid entries do not meet the minimum, then the tournament will only award the minimum number of seats/tickets to the respective target event. If there is a balance remaining, the next player(s) would receive a ticket of lesser value as there would not be enough funds in the prize pool to award a seat or ticket to the target event.
