How do blinds work in heads-up poker?

Usually, the player to the left of the dealer button places the small blind and the big blind is placed by the next player to the left.

However, heads-up poker is only played between two players. Therefore, the player with the dealer button places the small blind and acts first. The other player places the big blind and act next.
