Not Receiving One-Time Password

Not Receiving One-Time Password

The usual cause of this problem is, presuming that you are entering the correct phone number at login, is that your device is blocking our SMS messages back to you.

Unblocking SMS messages depends on the device you're using:

📱 Android
To unblock a conversation in Google Messages, you can:
  1. Open Google Messages
  2. Tap your profile photo or More options
  3. Select Spam & blocked
  4. Choose the 22395 contact from the list
  5. Tap Unblock
📱 iPhone
To unblock a contact in the Messages app, you can:
  1. Open Settings
  2. Tap Messages
  3. Scroll down and tap Blocked Contacts under SMS/MM
We appreciate that you likely didn't block us specifically, but the 22395 number we are texting from is used by other companies as well, so it is likely that you classified one of those previous messages as spam and blocked the number.

You can also text "ALLOW" to 22395 and then save the number to your approved contacts. After completing the above steps you should be able to receive our verification messages to your device.

If you continue to experience issues, it is often a consequence of several factors listed below:

Network Deprioritization:
  1. Budget carriers, often known as MVNOs (Mobile Virtual Network Operators), lease network bandwidth from larger, established carriers. They usually have a lower priority on the network, meaning their traffic (including OTPs) can be delayed during periods of high network congestion, affecting SMS delivery speed.
Network Issues and Congestion:
  1. OTP messages are sent via SMS, and network issues or traffic congestion within the SMS delivery system (A2P messaging servers) can cause significant delays. This can lead to OTPs arriving in bulk after a delay, or failing to arrive at all.
Provider Limitations:
  1. Some SMS providers used by budget carriers might experience service delays, especially during peak hours.

In simpler terms: It's like being in a long queue at a store – your messages (OTPs) have to wait longer to get through the system when the network is busy, especially if your carrier has a lower priority.

Important to note: While these issues can be more frequent with budget carriers, other factors can also contribute to delayed OTP delivery, including:

Poor network connection can prevent timely delivery.
Incorrect mobile number:
  1. A typo will result in a failed delivery.
DND Settings:
  1. "Do Not Disturb" features can inadvertently block OTPs.
Technical glitches:
  1. Server issues or temporary malfunctions can cause delays.
Full inbox:
  1. A full SMS inbox might prevent new messages from being received.
Spam filters:
  1. Messages, including OTPs, can sometimes be blocked or filtered as spam.

If you're facing consistent OTP delivery issues, it's advisable to check your phone's network connection, verify your registered number, disable DND if it's active, reset your network settings and potentially contact your mobile network provider for further assistance
