Winning KO Tournament Bounties

Winning KO Tournament Bounties

You went All-In against another player in a bounty tournament and won but you didn't receive their bounty, why did this happen?
There are certain requirements that need to be met to claim a bounty which we will outline for you below.

Criteria Needed to Claim a Bounty

To claim a player's bounty, a player must fulfill one primary condition:

The Eliminating Player Must Win the Hand That Takes the Eliminated Player's Last Chip.

  • You must be the player who wins the pot where your opponent is All-In and loses their final chip.

  • If a player is All-In against multiple opponents, and a side pot is created, the bounty is awarded to the player who wins the side pot that contains the eliminated player's last chips.

This example is outlined in the article we will link for you here:

  • If there is a split pot (a tie where the main pot is divided equally), the bounty is also split equally among the winners of the pot that eliminates the player.

Example Situation Breakdown

The two main players in this example:

  • Seat 1

  • Seat 2

1. Pre-Flop Action

The first screenshot above shows the table before the community cards are dealt.

PlayerPositionChips
Seat 1Small Blind (SB)34,258
Seat 2Big Blind (BB)10,400

  • Pre-flop situation: Seat 1 and Seat 2 are involved in the hand, with Seat 2 being the shortest stack (effective stack) at the table.

  • Key Action Leading to Showdown: Seat 2 (effective stack) goes All-In and Seat 1 calls their All-in setting up a showdown.

2. Winner Determined & Bounty Claimed

Seat 22s6sPair (Ah-Ad-9s-7d-6s)Eliminated
Board CardsAh ⋄ Ad  4d  7d ⋄ 9s
Pot Size24,160
  • The Showdown: Seat 1 has As2h, and using the two Aces on the board, makes Three of a Kind (AhAdAs). Seat 2 has 2s6s and only makes a pair, using the AhAd on the board.

  • The Result: Seat 1's Three of a Kind beats Seat 2's Pair.

  • Bounty Claimed: Since Seat 1 won the final pot and took Seat 2's last remaining chips since they were able to cover their stack, Seat 1 claims the bounty on Seat 2's head.

  • The Payout: In a PKO format, Seat 1 would immediately receive half of Seat 2s bounty amount as Chips, and the other half would be added to Seat 1s own bounty, increasing the price on Seat 1s head.

We hope this helps clarify claiming bounties but if you have any additional questions or want us to review any of your hands feel free to reach out to our support team directly.
