Understanding Different Tournament Speeds

Understanding Different Tournament Speeds

Tournament Speeds:

The pace of a tournament is one of the most important factors to consider when choosing a game. At ClubWPT Gold, we offer different tournament speeds to suit every player's preference. This guide will help you understand the differences between Normal, Turbo, and Deepstack events.

What Determines Tournament Speed?

A tournament's speed is primarily determined by how frequently the blinds and antes increase. Faster blind levels lead to quicker tournaments, while longer blind levels provide more time for strategic play.

We offer three primary speeds:

1. Normal Tournaments

Normal tournaments have a balanced pace, making them a great choice for players who enjoy a classic poker experience.

  • Blind Levels: Blinds typically increase every 8 to 10 minutes, giving players ample time to play hands and make decisions.

  • Labeling: These tournaments are usually not labeled with a specific speed in the title, as they represent our standard tournament format.

2. Turbo Tournaments

As the name suggests, Turbo tournaments are fast-paced and action-packed. This format is ideal for players who want to play more hands in a shorter amount of time.

  • Blind Levels: Blinds and antes increase at a much quicker rate, typically every 5 to 6 minutes.

  • Labeling: These tournaments will almost always be labeled as "Turbo" in the tournament name.

3. Deepstack Tournaments

Deepstack tournaments are designed for players who prefer to start with a significantly larger chip stack, allowing for more strategic flexibility and deeper post-flop play.

  • Starting Chips: The main difference is the huge starting stack. A Normal tournament might start players with 20,000 chips, whereas the Deepstack version could start players with 100,000 chips or more.

  • Blind Levels: Blind levels in Deepstack tournaments are often similar to Normal events (8 to 15 minutes), allowing the game to unfold slowly despite the massive starting stacks.

  • Labeling: These tournaments are usually clearly marked as "Deepstack" in the tournament lobby.

Finding Tournament Details

Before you register, you can always check the exact blind structure and starting stack for any tournament. Simply click on the tournament in the lobby and look for the "Structure" or "Blind Structure" tab to view all the details.

We hope this helps you select the perfect tournament speed for your playing style. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Support Team.
